About Me

My photo
I am 45. I am married to the love of my life. Together we have two beautiful young adults who bring me joy everyday. In 2015 we added another beautiful young adult to our house, our niece, and she has been a great joy! Secretly, I'm counting the years till grandbabies start coming; they just need to find their forever loves first.

Packer Afghan Featured on Ravelry!

My mind is blown! Ravelry featured my Packer Afghan on their "where my stitches at?" on November 15th. I didn't even know it until I opened up Ravelry to look at a pattern I want to make, and noticed over 60 messages in my mailbox. Thank you to everyone who has left a comment! I appreciate it!

Kitty Knits

I've been on a "kitty" kick for the past two days. I found this adorable pattern by Linda at Natural Suburbia and I've just gone kitty crazy! It takes me about an hour to make one. It uses so little yarn that I have been using bits from my "ball stash". They are great little stash busters.

The most fun part of this for me has been naming them. The original pattern done by Linda was named "Beans". I adopted that same name for the first little guy I made (first picture). When I started using other colors, they needed other names. I had my friends on Bizzy Crochet's FB page help me name one of the kitties...which I called Paprika, but there were so many cute names I decided that I needed to make a kitty for each name. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the list.

"Beans"

"Porridge"

"Sprinkles"

"Paprika"

"Noodles"

"Cherry" and "Pumpkin"

Size 6 dpns, a little ball of yarn, and some fluff....THE CUTE IS RIDICULOUS!

 Once again...here is the pattern.

Finished Mushroom Purse

I finished what I call my 'mushroom bag'. I used fall tone acrylic yarn that I purchased on clearance. Then I lined it with an adorable cotton blend mushroom patterned fabric. I added a chunky wooden button and wooden handles. I love the way it turned out, and I can hardly wait to give it to my friend for her birthday.

The original pattern is in this issue of Simply Crochet-UK, which you can get as a download online or through the newsstand app on iPhone.
